Oconee Baptist Camp... 2025!

Image
Our church teens had the wonderful opportunity to go to a camp several days ago! This was our third year going to Oconee Baptist Camp and I love it for several reasons: - Good dress standards These are very important to not only me, but to the leaders of our church. God cares about the way we dress, and it is possible to do activities like kickball, volleyball, dodgeball, and softball while still being modest. You don't have to break away from what pleases God to do that! If you would like to know more about what clothing I wear for these activities, feel free to ask in the comments. : ) - Godly preaching We heard SO MANY great messages by wonderful men of God this past week! Pastor Terrell Hopkins, Bro. William Davis, and Pastor Justin Cooper are men you NEED to listen to.  - Wonderful music All the music at Oconee Baptist Camp is uplifting and God-honoring. Especially when all the teens lift up their voices as one and sing some of the old hymns like "It is Well", or ...

Silas's Trumpet Recital

Image
Last night our family went to Silas's trumpet recital. He played "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus", and did such a great job! The recital was at the Thomas Center, which was such a beautiful place! Here are several pictures...                     The sort of courtyard with a fountain beside the Thomas Center was perfect for a photo shoot! The inside was gorgeous! Of course I had to bomb a photo. : ) Brenna accompanied him on the piano. They both did a really great job and we are so proud of them!

Guess What I'm Doing!!!

Image
I'm finally doing it! I'm taking the course to get my permit! I do feel like I'm going a bit overkill on the notes, (I'm up to 4 pages now,) but better safe then sorry, I guess. Then I'll have to study up for the big test!!! So excited. : )

Biblical Femininity (Part 3)

Image
In continuation of this series, our teen girl's Sunday School class talked about our appearance. What others see when they meet us matters! If they meet someone sloppy, who's unkept, and has a frown on their face, they will never want to meet your Savior.      But first, we need to establish the difference between STANDARDS and CONVICTIONS.     Standards are requirements found directly in God's Word. Like:     - no cursing     - no stealing     - listening to only God-pleasing music     - marrying a Godly guy      - no lying     These are all standards. Now convictions are a personal preference that is settled with God. And God takes these convictions seriously! Although they are a preference, convictions are something that is settled with the Lord - and He keeps tabs on what we have promised Him.      For instance, there are some ladies who d...

Catching Up!

Image
Our family has been busy lately!!! Here are some of the things that has been going on in our life, and the reason why I have not been able to post in a while. On Monday, April 28th, Mom, Silas, Micah, and I went to visit our grandparents down south in Fort Myers. We had a great time, then left Thursday.  We were able to visit the beach! Not much of a sunset, but we still had a great time!                                       Our  grandma bought us all new Sketchers shoes! This was such a treat and a blessing for sure! On Wednesday night, us kids and mom were able to sing at the Winkler Road Baptist church, where my grandparents attend services. It was special, especially since I love serving the Lord through singing! The day after we got back from Fort Myers, on a Friday, I repacked and then left for a ladies' conference our church's ladies enjoy every year. The ...

I Did a Guest Post on my Brother's Blog!

I did a guest post on my brother's blog, the Silas Zone. It was about how teenagers can effectively help their church in their stage of life. This is a vital topic and we both dived into detail about 5 crucial ways we, as teenagers, can strengthen our church! I invite you to check it out. Here is the link! Enjoy! https://thesilaszone.blogspot.com/2025/04/how-to-help-your-church-as-teenager.html
