Biblical Femininity (Part 2)
The strange woman in Proverbs 7 has several things that identify her.
1. She is of a subtle heart
She wants to see other fall. In her dress, in her mind, and in her heart she was a show of deceit! Her mind was on preying on others and she enjoyed seeing them fall. God forbid any of us young ladies be like that!
2. She is loud and stubborn
Are you the girl who has to laugh the loudest and talk the loudest, all because a guy is near? Here is a hint that I have learned: that does NOT attract a guy! Here's something for you to try. At your church your school, or any place teens are gathered, step back and see who is the loudest. Is it a girl? How does her mannerisms show who she really is on the inside? Do you think it attracts the guys? It doesn't!
3. She disdains her home
It wasn't a safe sanctuary for her! The strange woman didn't enjoy being in her house, safe, secure, and (here's the hush-hush word!) sheltered. Here's something that is key - embrace the rules your parents have set up. Don't just tolerate them... make them your own!
4. She is a shameless flirt
This woman encouraged guys, with her words, her eyes, and her dress. Do you laugh at everything a certain guy says? Do you try to make eye contact? Do you pick your clothes with this question in mind: "I wonder what so-and-so will think of this?"
There are many things that the strange woman consists of and she is a study I'd recommend doing. But now, here are some things about the virtuous woman, the opposite of the woman in Proverbs 7. This wonderful lady can be found in Proverbs 31.
1. She strives to bring her husband honor
In our case, this is our future husband we're talking about. : ) Everything we do around guys, we should do so in such a way that we honor our future husband. If you knew he was standing right there, would you still talk with that guy that way? Would you still laugh the way you do? Would you still go forward in a relationship you know would never work if it came to marriage? Keep him in mind... after all, he's the one you'll be spending the rest of your life with!
2. She's financially wise
Be careful about how you spend your money! Don't be a frivolous spender. Think before you purchase. Go farther than that, PRAY before you purchase!
3. She's wise and kind in her words
Be careful what you say - to everyone! Your brothers, your sisters, your parents, and your friends. Words hurt, and they hurt hard!
4. Feminine in attire
You can be classy and fashionable without breaking what God says to do! Your attire shows what's going on in your heart.
Take this for example: if you saw a girl with dark black hair, black lipstick and nails, and leather and chains on them, who would you say they are? A goth. What's going on on the outside shows what's on the inside! Take care of your appearance. Ask your Dad if your clothing and makeup is okay. Do this - ask your BROTHER what he thinks! (I know, I know, I'm insane.) But try it! : )
Being Biblically Feminine starts in the heart, then makes its way to the outside. Is what you are doing on a daily basis showing you are God's daughter?
I hope this helps you as much as this helps me!
