I Did a Guest Post on my Brother's Blog!

I did a guest post on my brother's blog, the Silas Zone. It was about how teenagers can effectively help their church in their stage of life. This is a vital topic and we both dived into detail about 5 crucial ways we, as teenagers, can strengthen our church! I invite you to check it out. Here is the link! Enjoy! https://thesilaszone.blogspot.com/2025/04/how-to-help-your-church-as-teenager.html

Easter is Coming!

Easter - a holiday filled with eggs, chocolate bunnies, and Jesus. What do those have in common? Absolutely nothing. But I know the most important one... Jesus.  Don't get me wrong, the other things are fun too, but they should never become more important to us than what really matters. Not only did our Heavenly Father care enough to become man and die for us, He proved Himself to be absolutely God by rising again 3 days later! I feel that sometimes us Christians take for granted what God did for us. He died! Being 100% man, He would've felt the pain... every lash of the whip, the nails going into his feet and hands, everything. And we think we have a hard time if we get a paper cut! He did all of that because He loved us. Us , being the filthy ones, the very ones that would reject Him and call for His crucifixion. That is real love in its purest form! Anyways, I have always been faced with the difficult question in the days leading up to Easter Sunday - do I wear an Easter h...

Biblical Femininity (Intro/Part 1)

Image
Hey everyone! There are so many things I want to do on this blog, but when I was in our teen class this Sunday, I knew exactly what I was going to do after my testimony post. I'm really hoping to use this blog to help other girls my age, so I was super excited to get ideas from our teen class's first split class. By that, I mean us girls had a teen class led by my sister-in-law, Tabitha, (also my youth pastor's wife,) and the guys were in another room doing their own class.  Tabitha gave an intro for a series we will be learning on Sunday mornings on Biblical Femininity, and it was so good! So, I will be giving my notes on that series here. I hope it helps you just as much as it is helping me!    Really quickly, I want to challenge you - are you living as a child of the King? Are you living as a daughter of the Lord? Is the attitude you have and the spirit you give off refreshing to others? In Genesis, the Bible talks about how after the flood, the daughters of men ...

My Testimony

Hi! As you know by now, I am a Baptist pastor's daughter. So, from a young age, I was raised hearing the gospel and hearing about the only way I could go to Heaven when I died. So, for this post, I thought I would share with you my testimony of coming to know the Lord as my personal Savior. But this means I have to start from the very beginning!  Even before I was born, I was hearing about Jesus and how He died for our sins. I was born in Quebec, Canada in May of 2010, while my family was at language school learning French. You see, my family was called to the French West Indies as missionaries where my Dad was born and raised for the first part of his life. But, needing to know the language, they moved to Canada temporarily to learn French. And then, I was born!  After a little while, we finally moved to the French West Indies, where we served for 2 and a half years and were able to reach 3 quarters of the island with the gospel. My family had the wonderful opportunity ...

My Family

Hey! So, I wanted to introduce my family really quickly. They are the people who have influenced me the most to live for the Lord, and they make being a Christian fun! This is Dad and Mom - my hero and heroine who led me to the Lord when I was 10, and who have shown me the right way to live as a God-honoring daughter of the Lord. Both of their testimonies of coming to know the Lord are amazing and touch my heart every time I hear it! I love them both so much! This is my Bethie. : ) AKA, Elisabeth... writer, (both of songs and of books,) reader, and the lady who has shown me how to prepare myself for my future husband. She's an awesome older sister! These two guys here are my brothers... Silas, (who's 16,) is on the right, and Micah, (who's 13,) is on the left. They both love football and sports, and can be a bit weird at times. : )  This is my older brother, Joshua, my sister-in-law Tabitha, and their kids: Liberty, Freedom, Victory, and Patriot. Since Josh and Tabitha are...

Welcome!

Hey there! My name is Callie Gimenez and the purpose of this blog is to show what my life is like as a pastor's kid. First and foremost, all blessings in this life come ultimately from God, and I am truly blessed beyond measure with the wonderful (and maybe a tad crazy), family He has given me! : ) Here is all of us at our family Valentine Banquet. Our different personalities definitely show in the  picture above!  We live in small-town Fort White, Florida, where my Dad pastors at Victory Springs Independent Baptist Church, a church we started 10 years ago after leaving the mission field. I love our church and watching God grow it!  I also love our family's small farm we have on our 4 acres, where we raise goats, rabbits, two dogs, a cat, and hopefully hedgehogs if I can convince Dad enough. : )  Sure, my life is simple, but that's why I named my blog "Simply Callie" - because while our family doesn't have all the money, a ginormous flat-screen TV, or the nic...
